Patio chairs

If every time you sit on your patio chairs you wish that you had a cushion to sit on, there is a way to make this happen – you can do it yourself.

Here are some of the steps to follow if you want to make cushions for patio chairs:

• Measure – When measuring the length and the width of the patio chairs, do not add extra inches over the side of the chairs. If you have cushion hangings that will hang over, they are more likely to deteriorate faster than cushions that are fitted properly.

• Think about thickness – You will need to decide how thick you want the cushions for your patio chairs to be. The less forgiving your patio chairs are, the more likely you will need some pretty thick cushions. Foam is a popular type of cushion to use thanks to the fact that it can be pretty supportive.

• Buy a weather-proof material – Once you have purchased the foam to use for the cushions for the patio chairs, you will need to get some water-resistant materials and zippers to create the chair cover. The zippers you purchase should be long enough to extend from one end of the cushion and almost all the way around

• Sew the pieces of fabric – When you sew together the pieces of fabric for your patio chairs, do so the same way that you would sew together a pillow case – from the inside out. This will make it easier to put the foam inside of the cushions when the time comes for that.

After you have done all this, all that is left is to put the cushions on the patio chairs and you are done. You may want to include ties on the cushions to keep them from slipping off of the chairs.
