Patio covers

If you are looking in to buying patio covers with the hope that they will be able to keep your patio clean, you may want to consider some of these other methods as well:

• Don’t let dirt build up – During the summer months, you likely will not want to mess with patio covers very much because you are likely to use the patio often. Your best bet is to simply use a hose to spray the dirt off of the patio periodically.

• Clean furniture with soap – In order to keep dust and dirt from accumulating on your patio furniture, use a mild soap and a damp towel to wipe the furniture down from time to time. You also can use a spray cleaner to remove the dirt that is already there. If you make a point to clean this area often, patio covers may not be needed.

• Use the washing machine – Although it might be better to use patio covers than it is to need to wash the cushions you have, if you have no patio covers, there is a good chance that you will need to wash these items. In order to keep outdoor furniture clean, the cloth should be washed regularly to avoid rainwater mildew or other build ups from stains.

Even though patio covers can help you avoid some of the cleaning discussed here, these covers will not completely protect your patio and furniture, it is a good idea to have the covers as well as know how to clean your patio.
