Patio umbrellas

You should already be aware of the traditional ways that patio umbrellas are used, but did you know there are some non-traditional ways these can be sued as well? But first, the traditional ways:

• Blocks out the sun – Patio umbrellas do a great job of blocking out the sun for people who are spending time on the patio. It is best to choose a light-colored umbrella in order to avoid attracting more heat to yourself. You should also make sure that the umbrellas are big enough to provide shade to all the people who might be sitting.

• Keeps the rain off of you – It is nice when you can use patio umbrellas to combat Mother Nature. Just because it is sprinkling outside, this does not mean that you cannot spend time on your patio. If you want to use patio umbrellas for the purpose of protecting yourself from the rain, it is important that you find an umbrella that does not have an opening in the middle, as some patio umbrellas will.

Among the non-traditional ways that patio umbrellas can be used are:

• For games – Turning the patio umbrellas upside down and allowing children to use the patio umbrellas as water balloon holders is a great, imaginative way to use these umbrellas. The umbrellas can also be used as a protection from incoming water balloons.

• Family decoration – If you have some artists in the family, it could be fun to buy white patio umbrellas and then simply give family members some magic markers to create the kind of umbrellas they like. This umbrella can serve as a reminder of your children after they have grown or of your grandchildren.

Regardless of how you plan to use the patio umbrellas you buy, suffice it to say that there are many options available for how you use them.
